Whenever possible, I address water ingress issues caused by roof leaks that result in staining and partial ceiling collapse. By utilizing breathable insulating lime plaster, these masonry repairs can be easily managed, presenting a cost-effective solution compared to complete removal. This method is vital to building restoration and employs lime plastering techniques for enhanced durability. Whether through lime plastering, lime pointing, or lime rendering, the repairs deliver a breathable finish that effectively protects your property.

    Wattle & Daub

These wattle & daub panels had been plastered with gypsum plaster, which resulted in the deterioration of the oak staves and hazel wattle behind. After the removal of all modern materials, we implemented breathable insulating lime plaster as part of the building restoration process. This method allowed us to utilize effective lime plastering techniques, including lime pointing and lime rendering, ensuring a more durable finish for necessary masonry repairs.
